c1868 Antique Drypoint Etching after 1628 Rembrandt van Rijn in Galveston, Texas For Sale

For sale is a scarce antique drypoint etching after Rembrandt van Rijn xxxx "The artist's mother: head and bust, three-quarters right" (ref. Bartsch B354) circa xxxx by Philip Gilbert Hamerton. This 120 year old plate-marked etching is printed on deckle edge Velin d'Arches with a portion of the "Arches" watermark at the edge of the sheet. Signed and dated in the plate. Measuring 3 1/2" X 3 1/4" etching on approx. 6" x 9" paper, this piece is well preserved for its age.
This etching has been professionally framed in a beautiful solid wood ornate frame with gold gilt and a museum-quality double mat with protective glass. I acquired this custom made frame from the estate of a framer in Houston, Texas and it is in excellent condition.
